Overseas Climbing and Hiking

Here are some climbing and trekking photos from overseas.

We spent two and a half weeks in Austria during August - September 2003 and did two climbing trips.

Climbing in Austra 1

The first trip started in the village of Vent. A delightful little town set between the steep sides of the valley. Vent is in southwest Austria near the Italian border.

The second climbing trip started from the town of Neukirchen and involved climbing the Großvenediger peaks of the Hohe Tauern National. Park

Trekking in Thailand

We did a three day trek through Northern Thailand including elephant riding and rafting on a flooded river. We visited a number of hill tribe villages meeting people from four different tribes - 1999.

Sea Gypsy Villages

The Urak Lawoi people of Phuket Island make their living from the sea. We visited two villages one at Rawai Beach and the other at Ko'Siray beach.
